-Belle whelped seven pups on 8-24-2020.  Six girls and one boy.
-Tails/dewclaws done on 8-27.
8-31: photos and weights done. (photos lost due to a camera glitch, sorry)
9-7-20:  Photos and weights taken with the help of Sari who is here from WY.
9-14-20:  Photos and wts. taken with Sari.  Very smokey here in Whitehall.  I feel for all those directly affected by the fires...
9-21-20:  Photos and wts. posted.  They are becoming mature enough to be fun!  Some local kids have been playing with them.  They are not quite ready to stack (stand in a show pose) but they are close.
9-28-20: Photos and wts. posted.  I will try to get to a group page in a day or two.  They are starting to play with each other and have funnnn!!!!
10-5-20:  Photos and wts. finished.  I took the photos by myself with the camera timer so some did not turn out real well...
10-12-20: Photos and wts. finished.  Volhard test results posted, Group Photos 2 posted.

10-14-20: Vet check was good.  All the pups are AOK (accept the umbilical hernia for Millie as mentioned below).  They had their first shot and were wormed.

10-19-20:  I have picked Millie. Todd
There has been a change in the Female Order of Puppy Choice below.

-->Millie has a small umbilical (naval) hernia.  This is common (Belle pulled too hard during whelping when she was biting off the umbilical chord, I remember her doing this...) and is an easy fix at the vet followed by 3-4 days wearing a cone.  Costs about $100 so I will either: 1)  keep her here to have it done and you can pick her up about 4 days after the minor surgery, or 2) I will lower her price by $150 and you can have your vet do it.  Again, I may choose to keep her myself, one in six chance.  I will choose which pup I am keeping at the structural evaluation at 8 weeks.  Todd :^)
-The pups are getting mostly the Pro Plan Focus pictured, but are also getting some Victor, Grain Free, Active Dog and Puppy, For Dogs of All life Stages.  Also, blended up carrots/broccoli/kohlrabi with some meals.

At 7 weeks we will administer the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test.  For the females we will administer the structural evaluation at 8 weeks and I will choose the pup I am keeping within 24 hours after the evaluation.  Each person thereafter will have 24 hours to make their selection after the previous person's selection is posted.  Pups can go home at 8 weeks (after I have chosen).  We encourage you to visit the pups often if you can!  If you have any questions about this process feel free to give me a call: Todd :^) 406-498-5236.

Military Tactical Stimulation – for young pups.
Tactical stimulation (between toes)

Head held erect

Head pointed down

Supine position
Thermal stimulation

Tactile stimulation

  1. Tactile stimulation - holding the pup in one hand, the handler gently stimulates (tickles) the pup between the toes on any one foot using a Q-tip. It is not necessary to see that the pup is feeling the tickle. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds. (Figure 1)
  2. Head held erect - using both hands, the pup is held perpendicular to the ground, (straight up), so that its head is directly above its tail. This is an upwards position. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds. (Figure 2)
  3. Head pointed down - holding the pup firmly with both hands the head is reversed and is pointed downward so that it is pointing towards the ground. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds. (Figure 3)
  4. Supine position - hold the pup so that its back is resting in the palm of both hands with its muzzle facing the ceiling. The pup while on its back is allowed to sleep. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds. (Figure 4)
  5. Thermal stimulation—use a damp towel that has been cooled in a refrigerator for at least five minutes. Place the pup on the towel, feet down. Do not restrain it from moving. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds.

Information About Belle x Hobey

CH Warbonnet Wynd Drinker "Belle"
Hips: OFA Excellent BS-18274E24F-NOPI, Elbows: Normal BS-EL1733F24-NOPI.  DNA Profile #: V867217.  Whelped 10-2-16.  By: Am/Can DC Kinwashkly Dirty Ned Pepper "Ned" x GCH Warbonnet Summer Wynd Dancer "Dancer".  Ned is OFA: GOOD, CERF: NORMAL.  He has placed Three Times at Nationals!  Website - Pedigree - Field Trial Placements
From his owner Vern: Ned is "Happy and snappy, the ability to find birds and run like the wind, with the sweetest nature is Ned in a nut shell!  Ned is now one of the top ranked All Age Brittanys in the US, and in May 2013 became the first Canadian-owned American/Canadian Dual Champion Brittany in history!"
From Todd: I have been wanting to breed to Ned for a long time.  His record in the field and nice personality speak for themselves.  He is also the son of Meadow's (our Kinwashkly bitch) sister Val (also a Am/Can Dual Champion) so this brings our Wyndy lines and the Kinwashkly lines together in Belle.  Belle is a show Champion as of June, 2018.  She has field trial placements and a Derby FT win so, she is Dual Pointed.  She has 3 legs out of 4 for her JH.

"HOBEY
" made Brittany history! He is the only Dual Champion to have won an all-breed Best in Show and the American Brittany Club National Specialty Show Best of Breed (from the Field Trial Dog class)!
Hobey has been a Top 10 Brittany and has won the ABCs Top 20 Invitational Competition. In 2018 Hobey was shown in Canada in one weekend he won three Sporting Group 1s, a Best in Show, and Best of Breed at the Brittany Spaniel Club of Canada.

We have the Burchetts to thank for Hobey's Field Trial Championship. Bob has done a fantastic job connecting with Hobey and honing him to the great field dog he is today. Hobey is just 2 points away from his Amateur Field Championship, hopefully one more feather in his cap.

We are thrilled with how Hobey consistently produces sound and talented puppies. He has produced multiple show champions, multiple hunt test titled dogs, agility titled dogs, and juvenile field trial winners. To view his current list of winners click here. Hobey is from the frozen semen breeding of Ch Alar's the Rocketeer CD SH "Chase" and DC Sovereign Copley Kiss My Chips "Zelda". Hobey is fourth generation Dual Champion, and tenth generation Field Trial Champion. Hobey is a blessing to us in many ways - fun to show, a pleasure to hunt behind, but mostly a joy to have as a companion in our family. I just wish he wouldn't take up so many covers on the bed!
