Test administered by:  Lara Engler, local vet tech.  This was her first time administering this test, 4-3-09, 5:30 to 6:45.  Test started about 2.5 hours after their afternoon feeding and all the pups were awake when their individual test started.  The test was done in a classroom at Whitehall High School.
Comments from Todd:
*Lara had a very interesting scent on her pants and most of the pups were distracted by that.
**ran back to tester than went back immediately and fetched the crumpled paper.  They ALL fetched and like to play fetch!!!!
***Crystal fetched the umbrella (I wish I had had that on video!) and several others tried to.
-----------------------------------------
Todd's over all assessment: 'Though the results are a bit variable, they are will within the range of good family dogs, good hunters and most would be good competition dogs.  The more independent pups should do some early obedience work to increase their bonding to their humans.  THEY ALL FETCH!!!!!!

Social attraction: They all came to a strange person in a strange room after a strange truck ride in the snow...  The two with 5's may be like their Mom Maggie who is some times hesitant in strange new situations but, soon warms up to the new environment.  By the end of the test (which takes about 8-10 min./pup) they had all warmed up to Lara and were following her around.

Following: The 6's show independence or hesitance in a new situation, and will need good human bonding plus early obedience training may really help (it helps all pups!).  The 4-2's were just fine for pups in a new situation.

Restraint: Holding them on their back.  Jade's reaction seemed more like playing, the rest reacted just fine.

Social Dominance: They were all very interested in the scent on Lara's pants so these results are not accurate.  Jade went off exploring.

Elevation: When held up, they all relaxed....  we handle them allot.

Retrieving: THEY ALL FETCH!!!!!!

Touch Sensitivity: Squeezing the webbing on the paw.  These were generally good though the 5's and 6 seemed more like they wanted to get away and play then being overly sensitive.

Sound Sensitivity: Crystal ignored the sound of a metal spoon beating on a metal pan, Ruby was startled by it and the rest were just curious.

Sight Sensitivity: A cloth on a string dragged in front of them.  You can see by the 1's and 2's that most of them wanted to fetch it or play with it.  That's good.

Stability: Popping an umbrella open 5' in front of them and setting it down.  None of them ran away and they all paid attention to it with out being scared.  Several of them tried to fetch it!

General observations:
They use their noses a lot, carry around and play with their toys (and often play tug-a-war with each other).  They all usually have their tails up and are a very perky, alert litter of pups.  They seem nice and out-going.  They love to rough house with each other and no one seems to be overly dominant or submissive.  We feel that we have them well socialized.
