Below is an E-mail from Carol
Richter to Todd Breitenfeldt, 2006.
My name is Carol Richter and my husband, Rob, and I owned both Carol's Little Ruffian and Jac's Ray of Sunshine. I am attaching two pictures of Ruffian but unfortunately, I do not have any of
Sunshine. We bred Sunshine (Sunny) to Ruffian (Ruff) in 1987 which produced a litter of eight. Only one dog out of the litter was shown and field trialed. That was DC/AFC RC's Sundancer (Rudy). Sunny was killed by a car before her third birthday so the photos of Sunny are scarce. Ruff met the same fate just about a year later. One photo of Ruff was taken in back of our home and the other photo was taken when Ruff won the 1987 Prairie Chicken Classic. He is joined by his handler, Bill Hancock. Ruff died in March of 1988. He was just five years old. Ruff was our first field trial dog and I'm afraid it's a very common story, young family wanted a pet/hunting dog and bought a pup from a field trialer. I think you probably know the rest of the story. We have been involved with Brittanys and field trialing since 1984.
